About.

Hello, my name is…Pyrexia.

Born from the vision of two dedicated doctors, Pyrexia aims to redefine healthcare admin. Our expertise spans identity management, data security, AI, and the seamless handling of mandatory and compliance documentation.

Our core mission? Simplify and streamline the back office process for clinical staff and management teams alike. At Pyrexia, we uphold the highest standards of transparency and accountability. This ensures that you always understand who we are, what we offer, and how Pyrexia operates.

Your feedback is invaluable. A hiccup to share? An idea we should be working on?

We're all ears! Because if something isn’t working for you, we're on it!

Security

We use industry-leading encryption to protect your data. Your data is secured at rest, and at any point it is being transmitted. All data is encrypted with AES-256 encryption, meaning each piece of data completes 14 rounds of encryption. That makes it the longest and most powerful encryption standard in the world. It’s so secure that it would take *billions* of years to crack using current computing technology.

Additionally, part of our systems run Quantum-Safe Encryption. As Quantum Computing approaches the capability to decipher today's top-tier encryption standards in the coming years, we've proactively equipped ourselves. Your data's future security is protected today, safeguarded by our Quantum-Safe Encryption.

Who can see your personal documents:

No one but you and the person you decide to share them with. We have specifically designed and built Pyrexia so that we can’t see your personal documents. We never sell or rent your information.

Where data is stored:

We use Amazon Web Services (AWS). Our servers are all based in the UK. Your data never leaves the UK. Amazon AWS is the same service the NHS, and many companies that handle patient information store data. It is also what the NHS uses for NHS login, e-Referral Service, NHS Business Services Authority, and many other programmes. We follow strict privacy policies and safeguard your data with the utmost care.

What standards we're compliant with:

AWS is compliant to a series of UK, EU, and global data protection standards, including:

  • NHS Digital – Data Security and Protection (DSP) Toolkit

  • International Organisation for Standardization (ISO) 27001, 27017, 27018, 9001

  • Cyber Essentials Plus

  • General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)/Data Protection Act 2018

  • National Cyber Security Center (NCSC) Cloud Security Principles

AWS compliance Programs - this illustrates the robust controls in place at AWS to maintain security and compliance. https://aws.amazon.com/compliance/programs/ AWS is also evaluated by the NHS Digital Data Security and Protection Toolkit: AWS holds a “Standards Exceeded” status. https://www.dsptoolkit.nhs.uk/OrganisationSearch/8JX11

Dr Ali Jawad

Ali has a background in graphic design, technology, charities, management, and education. He developed his design background in medical school. This gradually expanded to front-end work and then product management. He worked at a number of healthtech companies in senior product roles, designing and leading teams to deliver large scale software platforms.

He still regularly gives talks on innovation in healthcare, and has presented his research internationally. He continues to teach locally and also leads a national teaching course for medical students. Through an accelerator he started, he also mentors dozens of not-for-profit organisations and charities in the health and social care space.

Dr Oliver Trampleasure

A full-stack engineer with considerable technical experience and part-time NHS Paediatrician, Oliver is our CTO and responsible for building our platform. Prior to medicine Oliver achieved a Physics MSc where he learnt to code.

At medical school he created software to automatically allocate students to placements depending on their geographical location, saving hours of travelling time and improving satisfaction. After qualifying, Oliver volunteered in Camp Moria, a refugee camp described as ‘hell on earth’. Technical infrastructure was inherently poor but technological advancements meant this was not unavoidable. This spurred him to create a resource efficient Clinical Record System (CRS) for the austere environment that could be deployed on a low-cost, pocket-sized, battery and solar powered local server.
